The electrophysiology lab is a high-tech facility with the latest ablation equipment in new modern premises. Here, various electrophysiological examinations and ablations are performed, with the largest patient group being atrial arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, flutter, and various types of SVT. You will be part of a team with nurses, electrophysiology technicians, and electrophysiologists. We only have planned activities, and you will be one of three nurses in the lab who alternates between assisting in the procedure and being responsible for the patient.

The Atrial Fibrillation Center, along with several other centers (Heart Failure Center and Chest Pain Center), is a concept with expanded day care services to improve care for our patients. Here, we can take patients directly from the emergency department to expedite the investigation process and thus prevent the need for hospitalization. At the Atrial Fibrillation Center, we have direct admission for patients with ongoing rapid atrial fibrillation, we perform urgent and planned electrical cardioversion, provide daily telephone advice, and have scheduled nurse- and doctor-based atrial fibrillation clinics.

The position includes weekend duty every 4th weekend within inpatient care.

Job description

In the electrophysiology lab, you will alternate between different positions in the room, such as assisting sterilely during the procedure, being the patient-responsible nurse with responsibility for medication administration, and assisting with materials. You will be part of the team that ensures a professional and safe flow for our ablation patients. We have continuous training for everyone in the team. Orientation in the lab is individually tailored based on experience.

Together with colleagues, you will be responsible for the patients who pass through the Atrial Fibrillation Center. You will receive patients directly from the emergency department, participate in electrical cardioversion, and be responsible for the patient in the aftermath. This includes telephone advice and eventually also nurse-based clinics.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with cardiology experience. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Personal qualities

You are organized and independent but have a good ability to collaborate and communicate well. You need to be flexible and able to adapt to varying flows that may arise. A good sense of humor and a positive attitude will help you along the way.
